We who have chosen to serve this country deserve better than this. This is a true incident on what happened to a Veteran in the Greater Seattle Area. Believe me if you aren’t more than a little pissed when done reading this then you need to realize the crap that the person went through is not OK.

This person who we will call ‘TJ’ served our country for 13+ years and got an honorable discharge for their service during combat. They were willing to go into areas of the world that were filled with violence and danger. When I ran into them, they were being escorted out of the VA Medical Center in Seattle. They had gone for medical treatment and even with their disability rating at 100% they were treated like crud.

They told me that the reason they had been in the hospital was due to the PTSD that they had from combat and the VA had given them a medication that they had a reaction to and then once it was treated told them that they were getting discharged from the hospital with no place to go and 3 Metro Bus Tickets. The person was in an unknown city to them and had no funds to get a place to stay.

I had them meet me at my home after telling my husband the issues and agreeing that they could stay the night. I got up this morning and for over an hour and a half got the run around from places that say they are to help the veterans. Different people would tell me that they couldn’t help due to the fact that they had been originally from a different city. Some were saying that they had to go and fill out a bunch of paperwork and then it would take several days to see about getting them help with a place to stay.

I called local churches and they kept saying due to the person’s veteran status they would have to go to the local VA medical center or Vet center to get help.

I only had one person out of about three dozen that I spoke with say thank you for serving our country. One freaken person!!! Most of them acted like it is a plague.

When I finally got the number to a person that worked for the State of Washington, they gave me the run around and then an attitude when I asked to talk to their supervisor. At this stage I had been on the phone for over an hour and about to blow a gasket.

Is this the reason that we serve? Is this the reason that this person made the sacrifices that they did? Is it to be treated like dirt?

I know that people are going to say that it was one person, guess what, it happens to me almost every time that I go to the hospital. They have treated me like a medication test subject, they had treated me like I am no good when I was willing to serve this country.

This needs to stop! People who are willing to serve and give all should get the respect and treatment that they need for the problems that come from their service.

Wake up people! We need to have someone who is willing to care about others. I am tired of seeing people get hurt due to caring!

I do write in my diary every day. I’d like

    1. I do the blog post from home during my free time. I go through and check the comments before they show up on the site to make sure they are appropriate for others to read. The site connects directly into my word program so no it isn’t a lot of work to do. For me it is fun to do this and I love to write.

If you are going to do a blog find a topic that is of interest to you and go for it. Mine are on topics that I love. Just remember that this is different than a diary so you want to make sure that others would be interested in it too. Go with a free site like I do and when you use information from other sites give them credit. Often they will find your site through the link and you get more supporters or readers this way.

I have Google Hangouts and if you would like to talk for free, contact me and ask me to put you on the hangouts. I am lisaa9110@gmail.com. – please make sure that you put in the title that this is about blogging or I might delete it. (I get tons of junk on that email that is why I ask you to do this.) The best way is to put in the title ‘Ref: Blog Post’

searching and wound up here WTF … The Veteran’
s Life – strangebuttruehistory. And I actually do have a couple of
questions for you if you do not mind. Could it be simply me or
does it seem like some of these remarks appear as if they
are written by brain dead individuals? 😛 And, if you
are writing on additional online sites, I’d like to keep up with everything
fresh you have to post. Would you list of all of your social pages
