There is a scene in one of my favorite movies that I love to remind people of. It is part of a larger one so I have copied and pasted it here. I will put the site on as well.

“Agent Smith: Why, Mr. Anderson? Why do you do it? Why get up? Why keep fighting? Do you believe you’re fighting for something? For more that your survival? Can you tell me what it is? Do you even know? Is it freedom? Or truth? Perhaps peace? Yes? No? Could it be for love? Illusions, Mr. Anderson. Vagaries of perception. The temporary constructs of a feeble human intellect trying desperately to justify an existence that is without meaning or purpose. And all of them as artificial as the Matrix itself, although only a human mind could invent something as insipid as love. You must be able to see it, Mr. Anderson. You must know it by now. You can’t win. It’s pointless to keep fighting. Why, Mr. Anderson? Why? Why do you persist?
Neo: Because I choose to.”  (http://www.moviefanatic.com/quotes/characters/agent-smith/ ) This is from The Matrix series and the point is that every day we make choices. So when I hear people who are saying that one ‘type’ of people are better or worse than another it does bother me. Not that they are making the statements but that they choose to force it on others by opening their mouth.

Mr. Trump has made several as of late that are driving me wacko. One that he said and it was on the bottom of MSNBC news screen that he felt that Hillary Clinton is the devil. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/donald-trump-on-hillary-clinton-shes-the-devil/ So here is my issue with the statement that she is the devil.

1.) When you make a statement like ‘”He made a deal with the devil,” Trump said. “She’s the devil. He made a deal with the devil.” ‘ it is implying that you know the person better than the other person does. (http://www.cbsnews.com/news/donald-trump-on-hillary-clinton-shes-the-devil/ ) Now Mr. Trump has his right to have his own feelings on Secretary Clinton but this is the type of statement that makes me worry.

2.) When a person who is running for the office of Commander and Chief of the United States Military they shouldn’t be making statements like “He’s not a war hero,” Trump said. “He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured.” (http://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trump-john-mccain-war-hero-2015-7 )

There is a few things that he needs to know.  Senator McCain is the son of an Admiral and in the family tradition went into the Navy. When he was a POW at the ‘Hanoi Hilton’ his captors found out that he was the son of a high ranking Admiral and several times offered to release him early. Senator McCain refused to leave his men and followed the Military code of conduct. He knew that the North Vietnam government would use his release as propaganda. We have a choice to make – do we want someone who talks crud about someone who suffered with his men and others or someone who is willing to admit they made mistakes.man-shadow_pic
