Good Meals on the Cheap…

I am having fun and this might make you hungry in the process. The first one I have for you is a complete Spaghetti dinner for three.

3 pounds of ground beef (turkey can be substituted) cooked with sea salt, fresh garlic cut up, 1/4 fresh onion, little bit of pepper on medium heat until fully cooked. (I get my meat at the Grocery Outlet so it is less than $6.00 per pound)

The remainder of the onion, 2 cloves of garlic cut up, Italian Seasons, 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon, 1/3 cup of white sugar, *** 1 scallion, 3 cans of Hunts meat sauce, 1 can of diced tomatoes, peppercorn, and if you like mushrooms freshly cleaned and cut up.

The Italian Seasons, cinnamon, sugar (I will explain in a few), diced tomatoes, peppercorn, meat sauce all can be gotten at the local Dollar Store. The reason for the sugar is that it will reduce the acid of the tomatoes, you can add less if you like or more if you want a sweeter sauce.

The Dollar store has Barilla noodles at time so that is a good place to get them. The sea salt you can also get there. Grocery Outlet will have the meat, fresh onion, garlic and other items that you need.barilla-logo-1

Put it all in the crockpot and let it go on high for about 8 hours. If you want to have it longer then set the crockpot to low and it can be done when you come home or in about 12 hours. You need to make sure the meat is fully cooked prior to putting it in the sauce to prevent anything from cross contamination.

If you want garlic bread but don’t have the time then you can get Texas Toast with Garlic at the Dollar store.
