Does History Repeat …

Does history repeat itself? Is there a way to stop it? Why do we put up with some of the stuff? When you see something wrong, do you try to correct it?

This is something that we really need to talk about. History does repeat itself and if we don’t put the breaks on what is going on now, we are in a large amount of trouble. I am seeing it and it is scary to me.

If you look in American History you can see the repeats more than once. You look at the Africain Americans and the way that the European Americans treated them it is plain to see.

This is not just a story of the Africain Americans, this is the story of Native Americans, the Jewish religion, the Catholic religion and it goes on. Why does it happen? What makes it repeat, why can’t we stop history?

This country has an Africain American President and a European American for Vice President. Why do towns have to have the European members that don’t see the people of other colors as equals? Why do they still have places that are known as ‘Sundown’ towns?

A ‘Sundown Town’ is a town where a specific group {race, religion, or orientation} should be out of town before the sun goes down. These towns are in the United States. These towns are everywhere. They don’t have signs but if you watch the people you can see it. We need to make it to where the color fo the person’s skin or their religion is not an issue, then we can begin to believe in the first part of the Declaration of Independence in which Thomas Jefferson says ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.’ ( http://www.ushistory.org/declaration/document/ )
