A Scary Story that is true…

Have you ever heard of a ‘Sundown Town’? What about a town where there are an extreme few non-Europeans living? Most people don’t think that this could still happen, but it does. People think that with the changes in the Civil Rights Era that it would be impossible to happen anymore but it still does.

Why is this important? I was on my Twitter feed and a person I was talking with showed me something that has been really bothering me. It is a series of comments that people have made to a post that was put up.

” Casey ‏@pari_passu Oct 16
I live near KKK headquarters, and I want to make sure everyone sees the paper they left in my driveway, promoting #TrumpPence16. His base: kkk-newspaper-trump-endorsement-1478024176

Casey Retweeted Joe
What?Casey added,
Joe @eojracs
You probably live inside the KKK you asshole

Jesse Kelly
@Patriot_Musket That’s a great point. Hey @pari_passu , what does KKK headquarters look like? What are their hours? Open on Sunday?”

Now there are a few things here that are messed up … First off is Casey didn’t choose to live there. So acting like she would know the information when she is showing that she can’t stand the group is wrong. Second off … all the comments that are made on Twitter are recorded by the United States Library of Congress so guess what opening your mouth and saying something that is a -5 on the intelligent scale of 1 -10 is a bad idea.

Now people think that one of the world’s oldest terrorist groups and America’s oldest known homegrown terrorist group is something to laugh and joke around at, they need to look at history. They need to look long and hard. the-matrix-the-matrix-23939845-1360-768

While people think that groups like this are something of the past, they aren’t. They have been around for a long time. They continue to be around. They have died many deaths as a group but always come back. They are a hidden group that is waiting for a reason to come back and cause trouble. The most recent one that I remember was back in the 1970’s when Michael Donald was killed in Mobile Al. This article tells the entire story  http://www.nytimes.com/1987/11/01/magazine/the-woman-who-beat-the-klan.html?pagewanted=all

I remember hearing about this when I was in my 30’s and even then it was as is now for some reason a taboo subject. Why is hate that way? Why is hate the thing that can run this country to the ground but not talked about?

When I hear people saying that everything is good and fine, I want to scream at times. I want to take the rose colored glasses off their face and tell them to wake up.
