A Rainbow Nation …

What is a rainbow nation? How does this affect the United States? How will it be affected in the future?

A rainbow nation is a nation of more than one race, color, or religion. This is what the United States was created for a long time ago. The original reason that the United States was settled. It was for religious freedom. If you look at the Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights you will find this. The first Amendment of the Bill of Rights says “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise therefore; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

So what is the current administration doing? When President Trump tried to do a ‘ban’ on people who are from certain countries – he was violating the first amendment! The very thing that he said he would defend! The reason that he did that was to cause fear of a group of people. Fear is a powerful thing and a dangerous thing. 

If you look at what has happened in the past with Germany, you will see that it has happened before and nearly destroyed the country. We are there again. We have power that others don’t.

If we look at the Constitution of the United States we can see how we can fix the issue. In the Constitution of the United States it says in Section 3: “The Senate shall have the sole power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present. Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.”

Why is this one important? We are supposed to be a rainbow nation. No person is above the law.We have a problem when you read on CNN’s new app that one religious group is being targeted for hate. This is something that is happening. There was an article about the Jewish Community being scared due to the fact that so many bomb threats were being called in (http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/28/us/bomb-threats-jewish-centers-jcc/index.html ). These are people that are in the United States and have the right of the First Amendment to have the freedom of religion.


What can you do? Get a copy of the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and all the Amendments that have been added to it. If you have a Windows 10 computer you can get a copy for free from the Windows Store. Learn it, and make your elected people know that this is what you hold them accountable to.

    I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your head before
    writing. I have had a difficult time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts
    out there. I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like
    the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally wasted simply just trying
